The Lesson in the Return: Why God Let You Revisit What He Removed
Sometimes, God allows us to revisit a place He once called us out of—not to shame us, but to reveal something deeper. He may take us back to show us why He removed us, to give us a glimpse of life without it, and to test where our hearts stand now. When this happens, it's not an invitation to stay, but a moment of alignment. If we immediately return to His safety, the lesson is passed and growth is confirmed. However, if we linger in the hazard zone, still drawn to what once held us, God meets us there—not with condemnation, but with the understanding that there’s another layer to be stripped away, another lesson to be learned. So yes, that means another class session, another test. Not because He’s angry, but because He loves us too much to leave us halfway healed.
Scripture to Reflect On
"Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep His commands." — Deuteronomy 8:2 (NIV)
