Rooted in His Will, Not Mine: Trusting God’s Plan for a Season of New Beginnings
Share
Family, I just want to share what’s been on my heart as I dive into the book of Ezekiel. I’m only on chapter 4, but already, I’m in awe of how faithful the Lord is. He gave Ezekiel a challenging assignment—to be His mouthpiece, a prophet—and every step of the way, God has been right there with him. He never left Ezekiel’s side, and that same promise is true for us. If God has given you an assignment, no matter how big or small, He will stand by you and guide you, as long as you allow Him to. It’s so important not to lean on your own understanding but to trust in His wisdom and timing for everything.
If you’re in a place where the Lord has recently instructed you to do something and you’re feeling unsure or alone, take a deep breath and sit with Him. Ask Him to remove all distractions from your life, and here’s the key—when He removes them, let them go. Don’t chase after them as they leave! These distractions can come in many forms: a person, social media, certain foods, TV shows, streaming platforms—you name it. Whatever is pulling your focus away from Him, it has no place in this season of everything new.
This is your time for new strategies, new growth, and a firm foundation in Christ. And let me just say, if it’s not rooted in Him, it will eventually crumble. That doesn’t mean you can just slap a scripture on something and call it “rooted in Christ.” God doesn’t work like that. Using His Word without being in His Word is dangerous. Instead, spend time with Him, get to know Him, and build a relationship with Him—not because of what you want from Him, but simply because of who He is.
Once you’ve drawn close to Him, ask for His permission to start that idea or project you have on your heart. If He says yes, ask for the blueprint and strategies to see it through. If He says no, don’t be discouraged. Instead, ask Him what He wants you to build, start, or join. Not everyone is called to launch something solo—sometimes you’re meant to collaborate with others for His purpose. And when you stay in His will, you’ll see His hand guiding you to victory. Watch how what you touch blossoms into a beautiful garden because you’re aligned with His plan for your life.
One last thing—no shortcuts! When God tells you what to do, follow His instructions exactly. Trust His process, even when it feels long or challenging. Shortcuts might seem tempting, but obedience is the only true path to the blessings He has for you.
Alright, I’ve got to get back into mommy mode and prep dinner so I’m not rushing later. I want my husband to come home to a warm, home-cooked meal.
"Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.” Proverbs 21:5 NLT
